Supporting Indiana’s public charter schools
The Charter School Service Center (CSSC) was established in 2001, after charter legislation was passed in Indiana, in order to meet the growing demands from new and developing charter schools. The CSSC is the only organization in Indiana devoted exclusively to providing comprehensive support services to new and existing charter schools as well as sustaining and growing the charter school movement in Indiana.
The CSSC plans the Indiana Annual Charter School Conference, the Indiana Charter School Spelling Bee, and other events aimed to provide educational opportunities to students, staff, board members, and other community members supporting the charter school movement. We also provide information and representation through our quarterly publication, Indiana Charter Schools Today, and monthly online newsletter the Charter School Leader E-Reader.
CSSC members also have exclusive access to a wide array of technical assistance services and programs. Spending too much on insurance? Learn about our newly launched health insurance consortium and experience significant savings while providing excellent benefits to your staff? No resources for a Special Education Director? Members are eligible to join our special education cooperative and experience savings now. CSSC Members also have access to GEO’s dedicated professional staff on a discounted hourly basis. Everything from legal to technology services; chances are if you have a need, we can meet it.
With collaboration and cooperation among schools, services can become more streamlined and less expensive. A better use of funds results in more money going to the most important place possible – the classroom. Let’s work together to provide quality educational options to the families of Indiana.
